Prototyping
What is Prototyping?
Prototyping is the process of creating a preliminary version of a product to test and refine its features, design, and functionality. It allows designers and developers to experiment with different ideas and identify potential issues before finalizing the product. Prototypes can range from simple sketches or mockups to functional models that closely resemble the finished product.
Types of Prototypes
- Low-Fidelity Prototypes: Basic models or sketches that outline the product’s structure or layout.
- High-Fidelity Prototypes: Detailed models that closely replicate the final product’s appearance and functionality.
- Interactive Prototypes: Functional models that simulate user interaction for usability testing.
Benefits of Prototyping
- Early Detection of Issues: Helps identify and address design flaws before production.
- User Feedback: Allows potential users to test the product and provide input.
- Improved Design: Enables iteration and refinement of the product based on feedback and testing.
